In the game, however, he begins his catchphrase with "Aha!" rather than "Yes!" In the film, Boris' catchphrase is "Y-y-yes!.Similarly, if the player follows Boris when he flees in Control, he will run to a secret alcove (That contains full body armor) on the top floor before standing in a corner and disappearing. In the film, Boris seemingly "dies" after being frozen solid by a wave of liquid nitrogen (But may have really died.) In the game, however, he is last seen fleeing from Bond (unless he is killed in a glitch).Alan Cumming is the only actor to have played the role of Boris, and his likeness is used in game.If Bond does kill him, Natalya will refuse to operate the computer. In Control, Boris is actually not meant to be killed. However, oddly enough, he later comes back in Control without any injuries. After downloading data from the computer using the datathief (and after the alarm has gone off), Bond can then kill Boris and still complete the mission. Bond can murder the programmer immediately on Agent, but on higher difficulties he must first force Boris to take him to the mainframe terminal and disable the security. He is the only character in the game to naturally wear glasses. He is slightly shorter than most characters. It can also be noted that, Boris doesn't usually use any kind of weapons, as in his first appearance in GoldenEye 007 (Bunker 1), he is completely armless and is busy with a computer. However, Bond can actually kill Boris before he runs away by performing a certain glitch. He then runs away shouting "Aha! I am invincible!". However, the weapon will most likely to slip through his hand and Boris starts to beg for mercy from Bond, saying "Trevelyan made me do it". His second appearance is in Control, where he will possibly try to pull out a weapon on Bond. Bond holds him hostage and forces him to disable the mainframe's security (turn on the mainframe computer, as well) there, but later on, Boris accidentally (or perhaps intentionally) sets off the alarm after inputting the "KNOCKERS" password. His first appearance is in Bunker (i), where he is not known to Bond and instead known to him as the 'Programmer'. However, so can be said about Natalya.īoris appears twice in GoldenEye 007. He is noted to have controls over the GoldenEye from the Janus Control Center in exchange for money. He then completely betrays Russia, and starts working for Alec Trevelyan and Janus Crime Syndicate. He works at the Satellite Control Bunker in Severnaya as a prideful and arrogant first level programmer, and is also a former "friend" of Natalya Simonova (of whom he desperately tries to get attention). Boris Grishenko (Борис Грищенко (Russian)) is a programmer, hacker and a secondary villain in GoldenEye 007.
